Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 9 is officially described: “Having completed the conquest of the ‘Demon’s Castle,’ Jinwoo heads for his mother’s hospital room with the ‘Elixir of Life’ in hand, and finally obtains his true reward. On the other hand, he’s plagued by fear that he may have entered a realm where he should not have set foot in. Meanwhile, it’s eagerly hoped that Jinwoo will participate in the raid to recapture Jeju Island. While it is a unique opportunity to improve his skills, his mother and sister are all he can think about.” Strangely, no staff have been revealed yet for Season 2, Episode 9.

The synopsis teases that while one major hurdle in Jinwoo’s life has been overcome, the causes for concern are only getting started. These concerns were shared in recent interviews by the anime’s voice actors, Taito Ban (Jinwoo) and Reina Ueda (Cha Hae-in). Ueda spoke on Jinwoo’s eyes when he acts as the Shadow Monarch, turning a deep blue or purple: “There must be a meaning here,” she said, with Ban echoing that his Necromancer ability must have a fundamental meaning in the series. “As we will find out in the future, there is a meaning to everything, including why he came to have that power,” he said.
