The 15 Most Attractive Bleach Characters, Ranked

The 15 Most Attractive Bleach Characters, Ranked

The hit anime Bleach features an expansive cast with not just different zanpakuto and powers, but also different aesthetics. In fact, some characters might be more popular in the Bleach fandom or better-liked by everyone around them because of how they look, which includes their natural good looks, their fashion sense, and how they carry themselves. When that’s the main factor, certain Bleach characters stand above the rest.

Some Bleach characters are the most attractive in the eyes of fans, being the subjects of adoring fan art all over the internet. Meanwhile, in certain other cases, the Bleach characters themselves will comment on how attractive other cast members are, and the good-looking characters know that which might inflate their egos a bit. Best of all, these charming characters back up their good looks with bombastic action and meaningful character arcs to make them the complete package while being easy on the eyes.

Updated on February 20th, 2025 by Louis Kemner: This list of the most attractive Bleach characters has been expanded with five more entries because gorgeously animated shows like Bleach are never just about the story. Good-looking anime like these have equally stunning characters who demonstrate what it is that fans love about the lush visuals of anime as a whole, including character appearance.

15Renji is a Cool, Reliable Friend With Forehead Tattoos

Debut Episode: “Kon’s Great Plan”

Renji Abarai, the Lieutenant of squad 6, ranks last among the most attractive Bleach characters since he’s much more defined by his powers and his character arc, leaving the narrative with little time to push the angle of his physical appearance. Renji lacks the fashion model aesthetics of some other Bleach men, though he may still have appeal to anime fans who go for tough-guy husbandos.

Renji looks his best either when he is smiling confidently in battle or being gentle and kind with his friends, a pattern Ichigo shares. Renji can look downright scary or standoffish at times, but he has a good heart under that gruff warrior exterior. Anytime Renji shows off his good side, his handsome looks will match it, and any fan will enjoy that.

14Uryu is a Clean-Cut Hero and a Sharp Dresser

Debut Episode: “Greetings From a Stuffed Lion”

Ichigo’s friend Uryu Ishida ranks low among the most attractive Bleach characters because no one in the lore commented on his good looks, nor did anyone develop a crush on him because of it. Still, the fans can see what a conventionally attractive person Uryu is, with him embodying the “handsome but cold” aesthetic with his stern expressions and mature attitude.

Uryu may not be flashy, but he does have a pleasant aesthetic with his neatly combed and cut hair, stylish glasses, and his neatly fitted clothes, including his school uniform and various Quincy outfits. Uryu spent the anime chasing after Orihime, who didn’t notice his affection for her, but if he went after the other girls at his school instead, he’d get some flattering results.

13Grimmjow Has Rugged Good Looks as an Antihero

Debut Episode: “The Evil Eye, Aizen Again”

Most of the Arrancars had forgettable appearances, and a few were downright terrifying or bizarre, such as Aaroniero’s two floating heads. Meanwhile, the 6th Espada Grimmjow Jeagerjaques quickly established himself as an eye-catching bad boy, making him the perfect character to be Ichigo’s shonen-style rival and one of Bleach‘s best villains. That may also be why Grimmjow tends to show up in a lot of fan art.

Grimmjow matched his fun bad boy attitude with his lean, mean aesthetics, from his ducktail hair and wide smiles to his well-sculpted physique and his cool riff on the Arrancar uniform. In much more recent episodes, Grimmjow returned for more, this time switching to a different and equally stylish outfit to show how he’s grown as an antihero warrior.

12Isshin Caught Masaki’s Eye With Ease

Debut Episode: “The Day I Became a Shinigami”

Ichigo Kurosaki clearly got his rugged good looks from his widower father, Isshin Kurosaki. While Isshin isn’t on the market to find a new wife, he would probably find it easy, especially if he showed his cool side rather than his goofy side. That was probably why, aside from fighting White with him, Masaki Kurosaki was so attracted to him in her youth.

The Bleach anime often reduced Isshin to slapstick comedy in the early episodes, but even then, fans could appreciate Isshin’s mature and good looks, from his perfect beard and stylish hair to his chiseled jawline. Then, when Isshin got serious and started fighting as a Soul Reaper, his good looks compounded and made him one of the anime’s most compelling fighters.

Debut Episode: “14 Days Before Rukia’s Execution”

Being a handsome person was actually one of Sosuke Aizen’s best assets, and he clearly knew it. Aizen often used his shikai’s illusions to fool people and hide his villainous plans, but he could also use his natural charisma to present a false image of who Sosuke Aizen really was. For people like Momo Hinamori, shikai wasn’t necessary, just the compelling power of his face.

For years, Aizen was widely admired for being a mature, cultured, and attractive fellow who had a legion of female fans, who gladly attended his calligraphy classes in the Seireitei. All that came crashing down when Sosuke Aizen outed himself as a brutal villain who cared only for himself, and no doubt he didn’t care if his countless admirers were heartbroken by this revelation.

Being a shonen action anime for boys, Bleach rarely comments on the physical attractiveness of its male cast, but Bleach did make a few exceptions. One example was how Orihime fell in love with Ichigo, finding him immensely appealing on both the inside and outside. Most of all, Riruka Dokugamine found Ichigo hugely attractive for the sake of comedy.

Ichigo is best defined by his punkish attitude and steely resolve to defend his friends, though interested fans can also see how appealing he is on the outside. Ichigo has a tough and cool look with his angular features and stylish orange hair, not to mention his trendy urban fashion. Like many Bleach characters, Ichigo is often seen in fashionable duds, making him that much more impactful on a visual level. That helps Ichigo rank among the most attractive Bleach characters, even if him being handsome was never the point.

9Kaien Was Well-Liked Before His Untimely Demise

Debut Episode: “Penetrate the Center With an Enormous Bombshell?”

Although he didn’t often appear in the Bleach anime, Rukia’s painful memories made it wonderfully clear that former Lieutenant Kaien Shiba of squad 13 was a popular Soul Reaper. He was a skilled, idealistic, and attractive person who had the respect of everyone in his squad, most of all his wife Miyako and Rukia Kuchiki.

By no means did Kaien coast on his handsome face and popularity, but it must have certainly made his life more fun, and Miyako found herself deeply attracted to all of these good qualities and more. People like Kaien were proof that in the good days of peace, Soul Reapers didn’t have to worry about strength very much, so they could daydream about the coolest and most charismatic people instead.

8Orihime Won the Affection of Both Ichigo and Uryu

Debut Episode: “The Shinigami’s Work”

Orihime Inoue ranks in the middle among Bleach‘s most attractive character because she had not one, but two boys interested in her. First, it was Uryu Ishida who felt Cupid’s arrow around Orihime, which helped explain his highly protective feelings toward her during the events of the Soul Society story arc. However, the oblivious Orihime never realized Uryu’s true feelings, so Uryu evidently gave up at some point.

Over time, Ichigo Kurosaki realized his true amorous feelings for Orihime Inoue, and the feeling was mutual. Ichigo didn’t comment on it, but he did care a great deal that Orihime saw the beautiful adult Nelliel hugging him, at least. Orihime’s beauty, combined with her courage, loyalty, and noble heart, made her absolutely worthy of being Ichigo’s wife when they grew up together.

7Retsu Unohana is Squad 4’s Motherly Commander

Debut Episode: “Assemble! The Gotei 13”

With her warm, maternal air and mature personality, Captain Unohana has a unique kind of appeal among Bleach‘s most attractive women. Some Best Girls are outwardly attractive with energetic personalities and youthful beauty, while Unohana goes in a different direction. The fun part is how Unohana expresses her good looks both with her gentle side and her original Kenpachi persona.

Fans who like kind, gentle anime women will find Unohana’s default appearance gorgeous and lovable, while fans of warrior waifus and borderline bad grils will like her Yachiru Unohana side more. She is equally stunning and scary in that form, which fans only briefly saw while Unohana battled Kenpachi Zaraki to the death in the Thousand-Year Blood War arc.

6Nelliel is Charming in Her Adult Form

Debut Episode: “The Espada Gather! Aizen’s Royal Assembly”

Nelliel makes a serious face in adult form.

In her toddler form, the friendly Arrancar Nel was a silly little kid, but then she assumed her adult form when fighting Nnoitora Gilga in Las Noches. Ichigo was shocked both by that form’s existence and its raw power, and more amusingly, Ichigo was hugely flustered when Nelliel hugged him. After all, Orihime was watching, and Nelliel was a total beauty, making her seem like a romantic rival for Orihime.

Nelliel’s feelings are actually more platonic than that, but no matter her intentions, there is no denying her good looks to match her noble heart. Nelliel represents rare beauty among the Arrancars both on the inside and outside, a beautiful soul who won’t harm anyone without a good reason. Nelliel is bound by honor, making her unusual among her former peers.

5Byakuya is the Very Image of a Handsome Aristocrat

Captain Byakuya Kuchiki perfectly embodies the dual nature of the Soul Society, as does his zanpakuto, Senbonzakura. On one hand, the Soul Society is a peaceful and highly cultured place of beauty and elegant tradition, but it also has many savage warriors in its chronology. To mirror all this, Byakuya Kuchiki is refined and handsome, but also vicious and unforgiving against his enemies.

Byakuya’s aristocratic bearings and his good looks were probably what endeared him to the commoner woman Hisana, who convinced Byakuya to marry her, regardless of what traditions called for. Byakuya never remarried after Hisana’s demise, but if he did look for a new wife, he would certainly find plenty of takers among the members of the Soul Society’s upper crust. So, Byakuya ranks comfortably high among the most attractive Bleach characters, and he is #1 among Bleach men in particular.

4Bambietta Had a Fierce Temper to Match Her Smoldering Looks

Debut Episode: “March of the StarCross”

Bambietta Basterbine stands with her Quincy wings active in Bleach.

During the initial invasion of the Soul Society, a handful of Sternritter went wild and started butchering every Soul Reaper they could find, which served as a first impression of what the Sternritter were like. Äs Nödt terrified viewers with his fear theme, while Cang Du was a simple martial artist and Bambietta Basterbine was a warrior waifu of a Quincy.

Bambietta had an explosive temper to match her Schrift, but that’s not the only thing fans like about her. Despite Bambietta’s lack of depth, fans still enjoy watching this character thanks to both her cool powers and her good looks. In fact, Bambietta only needed a few quick words to convince a Quincy man to join her in her bedroom, only to slash him apart. That slain Quincy thought he was in for one thing, but got another, when he listened to Sternritter E.

3Senjumaru is the Most Likable Member of the Royal Guard

While no one in the Gotei 13 or the Royal Guard actually need to be outwardly attractive to do their jobs, the Soul Reapers do have freedom to accessorize however they wish, and Senjumaru Shutara gladly took advantage of that. Aside from her incredible skills and powers, fans admire Senjumaru’s strong feminine charm, including her shiny dark hair and bright red lipstick.

Senjumaru is thus a powerhouse beauty in battle, making her a fan-favorite in the recent Bleach story arcs as a warrior waifu who can do practically anything. Senjumaru also has a delightful personality to round things out, being serious when she must but also being playful and relaxed during downtime.

2Yoruichi is an Athletic Beauty and Good Friend

Debut Episode: “Kon’s Great Plan”

While Bleach characters tend to comment on Yoruichi Shihoin’s elite skills and roguish ways than her appearance, the fandom is still smitten with this character. Yoruichi lives up to her reputation as a smart, agile ninja of a Soul Reaper and is a good friend to Kisuke Urahara, and to top it all off, she is one of Bleach‘s most beautiful women of all.

Yoruichi is a petite, athletic ex-Captain with a fun personality and dazzling good looks, which allow her to steal the show anytime she shows up in the Bleach anime. All that makes Yoruichi prime material for the fandom’s fan art, memes, and other fan works, since Bleach devotees can’t get enough of the lively Yoruichi Shihoin.

1Rangiku Knows How Beautiful She Is

Debut Episode: “Assemble! The Gotei 13”

Lieutenant Rangiku Matsumoto is Bleach‘s most attractive character because she has ample beauty in the conventional sense, not to mention the sex appeal that she gladly flaunts at all times. Of course, there is more to her than being drawn as a beautiful woman to please fans, since Rangiku also has a decent personal arc and meaningful friendships.

Rangiku knows how incredibly attractive she is to everyone, and will sometimes tease her friends because of it. When Ichigo Kurosaki declined to let the Hitsugaya advance team stay in his house, it fell to Rangiku to attempt to seduce him with her incomparable good looks, and despite Ichigo’s defiant words, it was clearly working. Rukia noted how Ichigo covered his eyes, only to move a few fingers to get a good look at Rangiku anyway.
